District administrator Roger Lewandowski donated the organ pipes no. 594 -595 on 09.09.2023
The district administrator of the Havelland district Roger Lewandowski (CDU) is a member of the support group for the reconstruction of the St. Marien Andreas Church in Rathenow e. V. and as a member of the board of trustees of the support group, always tried to support the reconstruction of the church building, which was completely destroyed in the Second World War, in praise of God. He uses his good contacts on the committees of the Mittelbrandenburgische Sparkasse Potsdam to develop sources of funding. Despite the planned reconstruction measures for €7.5 million from the federal and state governments, the organ and the baroque pulpit still remain without a financing concept. Since 2021, the support group has been collecting donations for the re-carving of the baroque pulpit, which is expected to cost over €1 million. So far, €29,850.00 has been raised. The support group has started fundraising campaigns for both projects, but so far only €60,720.00 has been collected for the organ. The first organ pipe was donated by Prof. Dr. Michael Stiles and his wife Shirley from Edmonton in Canada 2002. The cost of a new organ in the St. Mary's Church is estimated at €1 million. Perhaps you can find a generous sponsor who can cover the costs of an organ. In any case, District Administrator Roger Lewandowski didn't want to be left out as a sponsor for the new organ and donated the organ pipes No. 594 - 595 (€200.00) on September 9th, 2023. The support group would like to thank the district administrator for the support.
