Jutta Schnorr, née Liesecke, was born on August 3,1944 in Rathenow. Her father Wilhelm Ferdinand Karl Liesecke was an industrial clerk and her mother Charlotte Anneliese Liesecke,née Telschow, was a tailor. She grew up together with her sister Ingrid who was born on March 28,1940. Her grandfather in Rathenow was a very courageous man.At the age of 79 on Maundy Thursday he ran after a hare in his garden and also beat it to death. While doing so he fell and died on the spot.

This feat just before his death will be repeated like a quotation:" grandpa and hare dead".

On November 8,1959 Jutta Schnorr was confirmed by the priest Reichard in the Sankt- Marien- Andreas-Church.Her saying for confirmation read: " The Lord is my shepard; I lack for nothing" ( Psalm 23,2). From 1951 to 1959 she attended the Sibling-Scholl-School and after that she transferred to grammer school " Karl Marx" in Rathenow where she took her A levels in 1963

. Because of the events of the war there were only two A levels classes in her year, a linguistic  class, called A-branch and a natural-science class, called B-branch. Jutta Schnorr was very good at languages . At the grammer school she took not only eight years of Russian, compulsory in the GDR (German Democratic Republic), but also six years of English and three years of Latin. The principal,Dr Heinz Schirrholz, personelly taught Latin and included with the lessos an introduction to many fields of Roman history and culture. Jutta Schnorr especially liked singing in the school choir. The music teacher, Herrman Tressel, gave the students very qualified lessons that comprised of the theory of instruments, history of music and theory of notes. This training awaikened Jutta Schnorr's love of classical music.

After completing her A-levels she learned the profession of a nurse and worked in 1975 at the surgical clinic of the Berlin Charite and afterwards in the municipal hospital of Berlin- Pankow, which was taken over by the Caritas clinics of Pankow

"Maria-Affliction" after 1990.

On May 28, 1968 she married the medical doctor, Dietmar Schnorr. In December 10, 1968 the couple gave birth to their son Robert and on July 27, 1973 to their daughter Juliane.

Her hobbies are reading, listening to music, especially listening to classical music and gardening. In addition to that she occupies herself with her three grandchildren as often as possible and with studying French at the adult education centre.

On September 10,1998 she joined the support group to rebuild Sankt-Marien-Anreas- Church  in Rathenow. She did this because she takes pleasure in the rebuilding of the church and because by that she wants to show her closeness to her home town.

Today Jutta Schnorr lives in Berlin.
